Since my childhood in Southern Africa, many of my most cherished memories come from immersion in the wilderness. I have spent decades exploring Southern Africa’s wildest locations, seeking out the most sensational experiences to share on our powerdown safaris.
I have also worked in a variety of high-pressure professional environments around the world, with experience including corporate board rooms, assessing private equity investments, establishing new companies as well as a stint advising senior government. I therefore have full appreciation how precious time away from frenetic daily lives can be. Raising a young family has emphasised this all the more. I have found that my diverse background, combined with the collective experience of the powerdown team empowers us with a unique appreciation of our safari clients’ needs.

Born and raised in the heart of the Kalahari, our beautiful wilderness is my home and my passion. Following on the honour of representing my country as a professional athlete, I dedicated myself to sharing the beautiful wilds of Southern Africa with travellers. It has been my pleasure to spend decades sharing our treasured wilderness with enthusiastic safari goers.
Trained as a guide to both South African FGASA and Botswana BOTA standards, I initially learned my craft at some of Botswana’s pioneering safari camp operators. After starting my own safari operations, I’m delighted to now be managing a fantastic powerdown team alongside Philipp.
I am also especially passionate about the education of the next generation in Southern Africa, including teaching them about all our valuable natural treasures. Our foundation exists for this purpose, engaging with school-age children throughout the region.
